Not my week

Is it only Wednesday? Man, I wish this week was over.

Let’s just say it started out on Saturday when I woke up in a panic at 6:10.  And I’m supposed to be at work at 6:00.  Thank you Iphone bug for making me 30 minutes later to work on New Year’s Day – I swear I was responsible the night before and got to bed!

Then Sunday night I braved the pouring rain to pick up stuff for my internship at Staples.  It was closed.  So I head to Office Max: ClosedMy gas light is on so I stop at Costco gas and get out all ready to fill ‘er up.  The worker comes up to me: Closed.  Finally, I stop at the grocery store to pick up 2 things.  The fire alarm goes off, and we’re all stuck outside for 15-20 minutes.  Once I get home, my phone falls out of my hand and rolls under my roommates car.  Luckily, I could lie flat on the ground and reach it.

What a night.  Seriously I couldn’t help but laugh! Open-mouthed smile

Last night at work was insanely busy.  I’m pretty sure I had a patient in every.  Single. Bed.

Then this morning I wake up at 8:05.  Supposed to be at nannying at 8:00.  Set my alarm last night, but forgot to turn it on.  Driving down the street I realize I forgot to take out the trashcans last night.  And realized I left my yogurt on the counter.

Long story short – not my week here.

At least the food’s been good!  I ate breakfast at work this morning, since I didn’t have time to eat/left my yogurt at home.

IMG_3822-1

Yum-may.  With a couple more spoons of PB on the side.

I was definitely hungry 2 hours later, and gave in to eating lunch at 11:30.

(Canned) turkey chili mixed with pepperjack cheese.  And more melty cheesy goodness on top.

IMG_0055

It was spicy-hot so I added a scoop of Fage on top.

IMG_0056-1

I also had a bit of Costco chicken salad (actually pretty good, and not too mayonnaisey!

Yay for free coupons!!  I definitely needed one of these this afternoonWinking smile

IMG_0057

+ the blueberry yogurt I left out on the counter (thank you roommate for putting it back in the fridge) & a scoop of peanut butter.  Because I can’t go more than 2 hours with PB in my life.

And then dinner at work.  Which I rarely take pictures of.  Because I don’t carry my camera around with my in my pocket, and the lighting isn’t the greatest with my Iphone.  But sometimes.

Can it be Saturday already?

What’s up peeps?

I awoke this morning muchos hungry. That’s the thing about longer distance running – always hungry!

Usually coffee can calm my appetite for a bit before I get down and dirty with breakfast. But not this morning. And guess what I was craving. More oats!

IMG 1010

Last night I planned on having a yogurt mess and using my nectarine.  But instead I used my nectarine on my hot oats. It worked with canteloupe, so why not?!

IMG 1011

I seriously don’t mess around with toppings. I may overwhelm my oats at times, but I’m pretty sure she (or he?) can handle it.

Today’s included:

  • Nectarine
  • Strawberry jam
  • Vanilla-pear butter
  • Berry cream cheese
  • Nuttzo

Yes – there was some Nuttzo under there!

IMG 1012

Other favorite oatmeal toppings of mine include:

  • Granola (love the crunch)
  • Caramel chips
  • All type of nut butters & jams
  • All types of cream cheese
  • Yogurt (Yoatgurt anyone?)

Of course I was hungry 2 hours later. No matter what I have for breakfast – it could be a small piece of toast, filling oatmeal, or eggs! – I am always hungry 2-3 hours after breakfast. I don’t understand those that say “this breakfast kept me full for 6 hours.” What?! How is that possible??

Anywas, I had a nectarine.

And then a Kashi trail mix bar not long after (which, by the way, I got for “free” at work with leftover cafeteria money. We get a certain amount to spend at each meal, and if my meal comes up cheap, I always throw in an apple, granola bar, or peach rings 😉 ).

IMG 1013-1

I then hit up Borders in between jobs for a little bit of chillaxin with some iced coffee (SF vanilla syrup and half & half yo)

IMG 0255-1

Some magazine reading, and some samples. I love samples. These were awsesome – some type of muffin and double chocolate chip cookie.

IMG 1014

They didn’t skimp on sizes either – this was almost the size of a normal chocolate chip cookie! And so moist and delicious.

IMG 1015

I came home hungray, and a bit chilly (WTF is up with you weather?) and wanted something warm. Soup to the rescue!! Some vegetable soup topped with ooey gooey cheese.

IMG 1019-1

Along with an English muffin pizza (pasta sauce + cheddar cheese)

IMG 1017-1

And pre-roasted cauliflower.

IMG 1018-1

This lunch may look like a lot, but it honestly didn’t make me too full. Plus I need to fuel up before work.

IMG 1016

Plus a mini-peach ring for dessert 🙂 Please excuse my super dry looking hands. I swear they’re not that bad in real life.

IMG 1020-1

I was pretty hangry for dinner! Good thing we took a break at 6:30 rather than 7:00 😉 I got the last of the vegetable ratatouille along with some sweet potato fries!!

IMG 1021-1

However both were pretty bland and not that great. I also had some blueberries on the side, and a few bites of cold leftover peach crisp.

Needless to say, I was pretty hungry (once again) by the time 8:30 rolled around.  I prepared my latest “frozen yogurt” obsession – with a twist!

Yogurt + stevia + peanut flour + cocoa powder –> into the freezer it went! Topped off with something special!

IMG 1022-1

I nuked a big old spoonful of chocolate hazelnut butter & a splash of almond milk to make a chocolate sauce. Delicious. I also had another spoonful of nut butter on the side. I’m way over quota today 😉

And I’m sure I’ll be getting hungry again quite soon. Damn you long run yesterday!!

Are you normally more hungry the day of a long run or in the days following?

When I do super long runs, I’m always insatiable all day long. Starving every couple hours. This time was weird however – I never got super hungry yesterday. Just my normal hunger. But today as been off the wall! This is why people gain weight when they train for long races 😉

Also – what’s your favorite oatmeal topping?

Multiple Labors

If I have to work on Labor Day, I at least wish I got time and a half!

I nannied for a bit this morning (not a long morning, just 2 hours). Then relaxed for a bit before heading off to my 3-8 hospital shift.

It was a foggy and oatmeal type of morning!

IMG 0987

  • 1/4 cups multigrain oats + 1/4 cup wheat bran
  • 1/2 cup almond milk + 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • Cinnamon & maple syrup
  • 2 scoops peanut flour
  • Maple PB
  • Justin’s chocolate hazelnut butter
  • Vanilla-Pear butter

Mmm melty.

IMG 0988-1

You know I added some jam once this picture was taken. I just didn’t want to overwhelm the camera 😉

I actually got a 3 1/2 hour break today during which I read a bit outside and tried to take a nap (which failed. I suck at naps).

I got a little hungry around 1:45 and had the rest of my Annie’s Spaghettios (this whole container was full – I was just impatient).

IMG 0990-1

And decided to roast up my cauliflower so it would be ready if I wanted any for lunches.

IMG 0992

I also had some today. Eaten straight out of the pan. Saves dishes folks.

IMG 0993-1

Can’t forget my afternoon pick-me-up! Homemade iced coffee. x2 cups.

IMG 0991-1

Dinner at work was a mix of different sides (the entrees tonight were hot dogs and hamburgers). Corn, green beans & chili beans. +1 onion ring I convinced the cashier to give me 😉

IMG 0994

I also had a small sliver of a quesadilla that didn’t go to a patient.

The good thing about getting all sides? My meal was so cheap I had extra money to buy myself a few granola bars to take home.

I also happened to accidentally walk in on a patient mid-push. In labor. Labor on labor day. How about that? Whoopss….

How was your Labor Day?

Salty sweet

Runnin’ free and it feels so good 😀

Today I hit the road for my long run of a planned 8 miles. Because it was my longer run, I made sure to do 1 1/2 minute walk breaks every 5-6 minutes NO MATTER WHAT! Because of the slightly slower pace and more frequent breaks, I tried to keep my pace to slightly under 10 minute miles the entire time.

Distance: 8.5 (yippee!)
Time: 1:23.21

I have to say I felt pretty awesome the entire run, and definitely could have gone farther. Let’s just hope my knee doesn’t hate me later since this was 1.25 miles longer than my last long run over 2 weeks ago.

Before the run I made up a yogurt mess:

IMG 7984

Had a few bites, but then decided it would be too filling for a run in about an hour. So I ended up with toast with PB and jam. 2 slices

IMG 4497-1

Post run I iced, foam rolled and then stretched (in that order). And then whipped up a sammie.

IMG 7981-1

Egg salad sammie, if you will. Made with

  • Egg
  • Hummus
  • Mustard
  • Paprika
  • Garlic salt
  • Relish

IMG 7982-1

Mmmm looks appetizing, I know 😉

+ unpicture saltwater taffy.

Errands followed (I was out of milk – what’s a girl to do?), which included a spontaneous hunger purchase.

IMG 7986

Sweet & Salty chex mix!! Which I admit, I bought mostly for these cookie swirls.

IMG 7987

+ beverages of sorts.

IMG 7985

Why do the McDonalds employees laugh and give me weird looks when I say “no creamer” in my iced coffees? Sorry that you guys put too much and I just add my own single container.

IMG 7988

Dinner was a chicken sandwich from Farmer’s Market that looked similar to this:

Phillys-Best-buffalo-chicken-sandwich-01

[source]

Except about half the size. And uber fatty because of too much skin. Not so impressed McLintocks. Not so impressed.

And nighttime snacking consisted of my other spontaneous purchase

IMG 7996

IMG 7997

They’re tasty and okay. But not my fave. Not chocolately enough for me. And the saltiness of the prezel wasn’t strong enough. Good concept, but not quite there.

And microwaved strawberries with blueberries, nut butter & a blob of yogurt “frosting”

IMG 7998

All of our microwavable bowls were dirty, obviously.  So I improvised.

IMG 7999

Oh and can’t forget the 2 glasses of sparkling peach wine from TJs 😉

Wine + chocolate + roommates + stretchy pants = definite girl’s night in.

Other BLTs:

  • Slice of turkey with hummus
  • Chip dipped in nutella (sweet & salty to the extreme!)
  • Carrots & guacamole

Are you a sweet or salty person?

I’m definitely more of a sweet person by far. But I do LOVE the sweet & salty combo. Yogurt covered pretzels? YES PLEASE. Chips crumbled over ice cream? Been there.

First off, Happy Birthday to my roommate Jenna!

IMG 0705

(Jenna’s on the right in case you for some reason have no idea what I look like. Or are a new reader)

Thanks for being such a wonderful and fun roommate. Can’t wait to celebrate tonight 🙂

Quick Thursday recap.

Yogurt + cinnamon + Kashi berry crisp cereal (new try!) + blackberries + PB at 9:15 before work.

IMG 7738

This Trader Joe’s European style yogurt was so runny, it was almost like a soup! Not such a fan.

IMG 7737

Iced coffee while running errands after work.

IMG 7693-2

I used to get McDonald’s iced coffee all the time! I ask for no creamer, and then add some of my own since they put way too much in for my taste.

Lunch of leftover goat cheese vegetable pizza (on its last leg)

IMG 7699

IMG 7700-1

A small piece of PB fudge

IMG 7739-1

Some marinated mushrooms (random snack)

IMG 7740

And a small bit of cookie dough (yes – I love love love cookie dough)

IMG 7741-1

Wait! Can’t forget my vitatmin! Looks like I had Wilma.

IMG 7742

These were sitting on the table at work, and I couldn’t turn down the Flinstones telling me to get my daily vitamins 😉

IMG 7743

Dinner was the rest of my eggplant parm (repeat pic alert!)

IMG 7731-2

And other snacks throughout the night:

  • Celery and ranch dip (before lunch)
  • Tons of blackberries. Literally the whole 12 oz container.
  • 2 big bites of DCD PB (eaten with my blackberries)
  • Apple dipped in dessert hummus
  • Hot cocoa

It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve taken you all on a flashback journey. As May comes to a close, let’s take a look throughout the Mays of my college life.

2006 (freshman year)

Cinco de Mayo party!

IMG 0979

IMG 0973

Going to a concert with some suitemates

IMG 1096

Took this as we were walking somewhere because we were shocked how much gas was! Then it got up to over $4.50 a gallon…

IMG 1068

Taking a few drinks before a baseball game. Hey! You only live once (the clock readers 5:00 I think – the earliest we’d ever drank! haha)

Then heading to the beach to play.

2007 (Sophomore year):

Not nearly as many pics. True love.

IMG 21841

I just want to document that at the beginnning of the night, my hair looked like this:

IMG 2187

After a night of walking in fog/dancing: (I can’t believe I’m posting this)

IMG 2192

Holy hell.

2008…..

Wow. I seriously have no pictures from May 2008. This year I wasn’t going out too much and wasn’t very close with my roommates. Moving on..

2009:

Mother’s Day brunch.

Now for menu fun. We’re going to Big Sky Cafe for dinner, yet I can’t decide what to get! What would you get? Keep in mind we’re going for dinner! And I don’t eat red meat.

I’m leaning towards:

  • Cup of turkey chili with side of sweet potato fries
  • Tagine of Vegetables
  • Vegetable plate with a side of sweet potato fries
  • Grilled cheese and chipotle sandwich
  • Turkey burger

They’re sweet potato fries are a must. So I have to get those. But I also really want to try the yam risotto. Obviously I’m having a difficult time over here! 😉

Help a girl out!!

Honestly, I show about 60% of my food consumed on a daily basis. I always have random snacks, and TONS of BLTs (bites licks and tastes) thoughout the day. On top of the BLTs & snacks, I often times take an extra spoonful of PB or have an extra handful of cereal while I’m dishing it out for some other reason. For some reason, I decided to show you absolutely everything I ate today.

Breakfast at about 9:30/9:45. Overnight oats to-go!

  • 1/3 cup multigrain oats + 1/4 cup wheat bran
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • 1/3 cup plain yogurt
  • Cinnamon & maple syrup
  • 1 T peanut butter

Topped this morning with:

  • Nature’s Path pecan crunch cereal
  • Blackberries

IMG 7702

Yes there are oats somewhere in there.

IMG 7703

At around 11:00, I got randomly low blood sugar feeling so I grabbed a handful of cereal and dried dates.

IMG 7704-1

Carrots & salsa at 12:00

IMG 7708

And coffee with almond milk & stevia.

IMG 7705-1

Lunch at 2:00 was a Costco veggie burger on top of baked beans (about 1 1/2 – 2 servings worth. Whoever said there were “5 servings” in a can was kidding themselves).

IMG 7706-1

I mixed it up with some coleslaw for crrrrrunch. And I threw in some rotisserie chicken as well.

IMG 7707-1

And another cup of coffee + FF vanilla creamer soon after.

IMG 7725-1

On another note I’m diggin’ the hair today (although I do look pissed in my reflection).

IMG 7715-1

I pinned it up to sleep on it, and just decided to leave it for the day. I’m debating whether to wear it like this on Friday night, but you know the luck that your hair always looks good when you’re not going anywhere? But then when you actually are going somewhere, it doesn’t work out? Yeah, I’m scared that’ll happen.

IMG 7716

Had a slight sweet-tooth around 4:00

IMG 7727

More iced coffee + almond milk & stevia around 5:00 (I make my coffee super weak. Plus I was dragging).

IMG 7728-1

And the smallest apple known to man.

IMG 7730-1

Dinner was leftover eggplant parmesan at 6:00

IMG 7731-1

So then naturally I was hungry for multiple snacks once I got home from work.

Blackberries

IMG 7735

A small nibble of banana bread

IMG 7736

Hot cocoa & spoiler alert for American Idol below!!!!!

IMG 6073-1

All thoughout American Idol (which OMGGGGGGGGGGG had me pissing my pants towards the end. I couldn’t take it!! Lee!! OMG looooove you 😀 And I also read in US weekly today that he “doesn’t have a girlfriend, but wouldn’t mind one.” Um hello? I’m available 😉 ).

And now just finishing off some of the best ice cream I’ve ever devoured. Ever.

IMG 7732-1

Literally tastes like you’re eating ice cream cake. Literally. Now if only the chocolate chunks were gone (not a fan of chocolate chips in my ice cream).

IMG 7733

Shoot, I just realized I lied when I said I documented everything. Missing:

  • 2 cups of coffee + almond milk this morning
  • Couple bites of cottage cheese with the cereal/dried fruit this AM
  • Diet 7-up this afternoon
  • Couple bites of mac & cheese as I made it for the kids
  • Celery dipped in hummus &/or yogurt ranch at around 8:30
  • Couple ‘Nilla Wafers just a few minutes ago

So there you have it. A complete and literal day in the eats of Tay.

I really should start committing myself to posting every bite and nibble I eat because it makes me go “WOW.” I know I eat a ridiculous amount of random eats throughout the day, and maybe knowing I’d have to post it and bore you all to death would make me think twice. I especially have the problem at work when I’m putting together the kids’ meals!

What about you – are you a random nibbler? It’s something I need to work on!

Weekend Top 10

#10. Protein pancakes made on Friday morning.

IMG 7621-1

Pecan cinnamon chip pancakes to be more exact.

  • 2 T whole wheat flour
  • 3 T soy protein powder (TJs brand)
  • Cinnamon
  • Stevia
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • Chopped pecans
  • 1-2 T cinnamon chips

IMG 7622-1

The yogurt was a bad addition. The pancakes never firmed up – too mushy. But topped with honey almond cream cheese, peanut butter, and crofter’s jam? I’ll take them anyday 😉

#9. Drinking more coffee than is deemed necessary for human consumption.

IMG 7624

Taken on my 1-year anniversary in memory of my first picture 😉

img 30092

#8. Look who finally made kale chips!!

IMG 7638

(I made them in case you didn’t catch that)

Oh wait – that’s better.

IMG 7639

I’m still trying to perfect them, but do you all eat them with a fork or hands? I feel like they’re too flaky/small to eat with hands!

#7. Caramel swirl. ‘Nuff said.

IMG 7637

Taking advantage of the last day of Starbucks’s Happy Hour. That’s my third frap in 6 days. I’ve had my fix.

#6. Mama Pea’s crack cereal.

IMG 7641

I actually made this a while ago, but it’s only gotten better. So good so good. I made with craisins since that’s all I had on hand.

#5. Counts as 5 & 6 since I ate it more than once and it’s just. That. Good.

IMG 7516

#4. Sweet – my new bumper sticker! Even though it’s been a while, I’ve always wanted one. The window might not have been the smartest place to put it, since you can’t read it from a distance though haha.

IMG 7557-1

#3. My awaited dessert hummus! So excited to get this 😀

IMG 7633-1

Thank you thank you to the wonderful people at Crazy Camel Dessert Hummus.

You know which flavor caught my eye first.

IMG 7635-1

Pumpkin pie obvs. Eaten straight with a spoon with some strawberries.

IMG 7636

Oh yummmm. The spices definitely shine though in this hummus. Can’t wait to try the other flavors and keep you all updated!

#2. My run!!

Distance: 3.5 miles
Time: 32:50

Knee has been a tad more sore than normal, but I think it might be my foam roller slackage in the past week. The past few weeks I’ve been doing 2 short runs (2.5 miles and 3-4 miles) and a longer run. Each week I’ve been increasing the length of my long run by 1 mile. This week I’m planning to slightly increase the length of my shorter runs rather than increase my long run. Plan is:

Sunday: 3.5 miles
Tuesday: 3-3.5 miles
Thursday or Friday: 6-6.5 miles (depending on Tuesday’s distance)

Weekly total: 13 miles
Last week’s total: 12 miles

And the weekend’s Top highlight?

#1. Beach Bashin’ with my girls.

28957 428393425820 507740820 5997259 4483520 n

AKA a party where we were a suit top and a dress. Oh well any excuse for a party 😉

What was your weekend highlight?

Hello my lovelies! I was super excited to get going this morning because I had something special to use – new running shoes!!

My grandma bought me new shoes for my birthday, so I went and got re-fitted yesterday. First, they filmed me running on the treadmill (which I’ve never had done before), and then analyzed my gait.

She then filmed me again running in their normal running shoes with my orthotics in.

Now I’ve been running in Saucony Stabils, with absolute maximum support and motion control, for the past 3-4 years. The girl who was helping me was quite surprised I was running in such supportive shoes, especially with my orthotics. She said I really only needed mild to moderate support shoes along with my orthotics to fix my pronation.

I then tried on a ton of shoes. I also have a very narrow heel, so many shoes (especially Nikes) slip! The pair I really wanted also didn’t come in a big enough size (I’m size 11-11.5! Bigfoot over here). I ended up with my some new Brooks!

xl1200641b416

Source

I’ve never ran in Brooks shoes before, so we’ll see how this goes!

This morning I had 1/2 a hemp bagel spread with almond butter and Crofter’s jam shortly before heading out.

IMG 7206

I tried out some soynut butter which I was sent to review on my bagel first.

IMG 7204

But I just couldn’t get into it. I’ve been trying it on multiple occasions in all different ways. It tastes exactly like soynuts – which I do like! But I’m just not a huge fan of the nut butter version. Even though it does have excellent stats! Check out the fiber and protein!

IMG 7205-1

I’d still recommend trying it out if you like soynuts! Tastes just like it.

Post 3 mile run, 25 minute foam roll & stretching came lunch.

Leftover pineapple, black beans and chicken.

IMG 7153-1

With rice.

IMG 7152-1

Yummy yummy in my tummy!

But still very hungry hungry an hour later.

A serving of yogurt and Kashi blueberry flakes cereal.

IMG 7178

Forgot I had this sample from forever ago!

IMG 7179

Followed by an apple of sorts.

IMG 7209

Other afternoon snacks at work consisted of –

Iced SF hazelnut coffee with half & half

IMG 7208

Cranberry heart thrive

IMG 7212-1

And a banana to tide me over until dinner.

IMG 7210-1

And oh what a yummy dinner it was!

Buttnernut squash lasagna (I’ll post the recipe soon)

IMG 5790

Deeeeeeeeeelicious 😀

The rest of the night was full of my future boyfriend Idol,

And GLEE!!!

Now I need your help!!

Now it’s vote time! I’ve been shopping for a birthday dress for this Friday’s celebrations 😉 But I can never make decisions – it’s hard! So I’m asking you all to give me your opinions. Please ignore my dirty, hat hair! And my awkward looks since I didn’t know what face to make.

Option A: (closed eyes!) Yes, it has a zipper down the front – odd but I like it! And the whole body portion is kind of scrunchy. With a frilly bottom.

IMG 7216-1

IMG 7217-1

Option B: Looks short on the right side, but I think it was bunched up a bit. Also I was obviously caught in the middle of awkward laughing. Ummm…I obviously don’t channel Miss Kailey well.

IMG 7218

And here I slouch…

IMG 7219-2

All right peeps, opinions opinions! And if you feel the need, you can give me your reasonings 😉 I am quite indecisive, haha.

Pinch Me

Happy Saint Patty’s Day!!

Are you rockin’ the green today?

Because I sure am! (My eyebrow is ridiculously high in this picture, but I swear I wasn’t surprised by the camera)

IMG 6833

Yes – we sure do.

My kiddos sported green as well.

IMG 6824-1

As well as the stunnas.

I actually planned to hit up the bars today at 6 am for a green beer. Yup. I was going to be one of those college peeps 😀 I’ve never done it, and when else would I get the chance right?

But then my roommate got sick and can’t drink now. And I realized I worked at 8:30 am. FAIL. Oh well. I chose to drive down the streets of downtown on my way to work and check out the stumbling drunks and long lines in front of the bars instead. If you can’t join ’em, laugh at them, right? 😉

Breakfast-to-go!

IMG 6822

In my overnight oats –

  • 1/4 cup muesli + 1/3 cup oat bran + 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 2 T chia seeds
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 T honey peanut butter (mixed in)
  • Topped off with this morning:
    • Nature’s Path strawberry & yogurt cereal
    • Maple Life
    • Almond butter

IMG 6823

Oh so delicious.

Morning snack at work was strange. Half a sandwich thin and carrots dipped into pasta sauce. I had some remnants of pasta sauce in the fridge. Sandwich thin I grabbed out the door. And carrots without dip. I really shouldn’t even try to explain this one.

IMG 6828

El luncho – yet another frozen meal. This one of Safeway’s Eating Right brand. Reminded me a lot of the Lean Cuisine thai noodles from last week. But nope, not nearly as good. This one was very bland and almost tasteless.

IMG 6826-1

IMG 6827-1

Sorry Safeway, but brand name wins out.

I then proceeded to burn my palm on this mug. Microwave safe, my unmentionable behinds. I like the inscription though 🙂

IMG 6831

I guess a burned palm is what you get for gorging yourself on 3 cups of half-caff coffee. Damn.

I ended up getting off work 3 hours early. Obviously she doesn’t realize I need money for slutty dresses and booze innocent Vegas fun.

I came home and honestly wasn’t too hungry. So I kept snacking on mini-esque “meals”.

First up, leftover roasted broccoli (topped with ketchup after this shot).

IMG 6679

And a little later had some light Campbells Italian-style soup sprinkled with cheese. With a sandwich thin toasted for dipping.

IMG 6692-1

And then kettle corn while watching American Idol.

IMG 0623

A couple spoonfuls of PB may also have been consumed.

Now I’m still trying to decide if I should head home tomorrow directly after my final presentation, or just wait until Friday.

How did you all celebrate the holiday?

I realized I only ate one green thing today – broccoli! Ha. So festive of me 😉

Senior project is done and turned in!!

This has definitely been one of the best finals weeks ever. Both yesterday and today have consisted of basking in the hot rays for hours. Got a little Vegas shopping in at Forever 21 tonight (yes – going to Vegas next week!!). And Chipotle for dinner!

Chipotle finally opened up here in SLO a couple weeks ago, and we figured the hype had finally died down a bit so it wouldn’t be super crowded.

Vegetarian salad with black beans, sauteed onions & bell peppers, extra pico de gallo, corn salsa relish, and guacamole.

I got the vegetarian JUST to get free guacamole, and this Chiptole skimped on the guac. Usually they load that beast on!

This morning I woke up not hungry, so enjoyed a cup (or 3) of delicious coffee while blog reading.

Still not hungry, and with a slight stomach ache, I grabbed a small breakfast on my way out the door to a nanny interview.

Whole wheat bagel thin – Justin’s honey PB & Crofter’s superfruit spread. That little corner of white stuff is cream cheese. Then I ran out. Oh well – I tried!

1 1/2 hours later, my hunger caught up to me and arrived home starving. I George Formaned another bagel thin with turkey, cheese, and BBQ sauce.

Plus kabocha squash on the side.

While finishing up my project post-sun time, I snacked on these cinnamon almond cookie bites. They give a funky aftertaste. But are okay to munch on.

Turned in that 25 page project (yeah-yuh!!), and hit up the pool for a quick 30 minute swim.

  • 500 freesyle
  • 500 freestyle pulling with paddles
  • 100 IM
  • 100 freestyle
(repeat above IM/freestyle sequence 3 times)
  • 100 cooldown

I’m so glad I made myself go, because I was not feelin’ it at all. And I was this close to just saying “screw it!”. But I knew I’d regret not going more than I’d regret actually swimming – you know?

Swimming made me a hungry fishie, and I had half of this bar to hold me over until dinner.

Really not such a fan. Especially for the very small bar to high calorie ratio. I’ll try the other flavors, but we’ll see!

Then dinner, shopping, and now American Idol! I’m telling ya – it’s been a good day 😀

Shopping must have been hard work because I came home 2 hours after dinner starving! And made myself 2 bags of mini-popcorn. So much for the portion control of mini bags…LOL. Oh and 3 clementines. And a spoonful of PB.

Dang. For such an un-hungry morning, I sure got ravenous later on.

Thoughts on tonight’s Idol?

I love Lee. I voted 😉

Is the weather by you as nice as it is here?

I’m pretty sure it was in the 80’s today!! So nice. And definitely got burnt. Whoops! Time to aloe it up.
