Tarsal Troubles

I swear there’s food under that ketchup.

IMG_0338-1

Nothing like an egg & veggie sausage scramble with a side of taped foot.  Eaten in bed on a Saturday morning Smile Oh relaxing.

So about that tape…here comes some injury talk!  Booooo.

Anyways I really haven’t talked about it much.  I’ve mentioned it, but I’m injured.  Yes, again.

Back in October, my heel gave me some trouble the week before my half marathon.  I thought it was plantar fasciitis, and it got 90% better within the week.  But my ankle still felt….funny.  It didn’t hurt, but on every run it just felt weird.  Like full or tight or something.  Not bad at all though.  The pain also sometimes radiated up above my inner ankle along the inner shin bone.  I thought I just needed new orthotics.  So I got some.

But, like I mentioned in January, my new orthotics didn’t help.  In fact, my problems just got worse with them.  I cut back on running.  I rested.  I iced.  I’m part of the Injury’s royal court by now, so I know the drill.  Finally at the end of January, I had enough and went to a podiatrist.

Diagnosis?  Tarsal tunnel syndrome.  Similar to carpal tunnel syndrome (of the wrist), but in the ankle.

Prescription? Rest.  Wear orthotics/running shoes all day long.  Limit walking.  Ice.  Prescription strength anti-inflammatories. Come back in 4 weeks.

By the end of 4 weeks, I was feeling 85% better.  Barely any pain!  So I tried a couple treadmill workouts that week.  2-3 miles on the treadmill of running/walking.  Took it very easy and slow.  And you know what?  I felt no pain during activity.  But that week it flared up.  Super painful.  Throbbing at night.

When I went back to the doctor, he told me the same thing: Rest. Wear orthotics. Limit walking. Ice.  And now physical therapy.

So that’s what I’ve been doing the past 3 weeks.  Physical therapy.  Which seems to be helping.  But barely.  It’s feeling better.  But no better than it felt at the end of those initial 4 weeks.  And it still definitely hurts often, and always feels funny.  It almost always feels full and tight – like there’s something in there that just needs to be stretched out.

So I had another appointment yesterday.  And at this point, he wants to boot me up.

HighTop_Air Walker_lg

He did take x-rays, but I guess nothing was abnormal since he didn’t talk about them.

IMG_0334IMG_0335

And I can’t afford an MRI right now.  I joke that I’d “be rich!” if it weren’t for all my injuries.  You know how much I’ve spent on multiple pairs of new shoes, orthotics, doctor’s appointments, physical therapy, etc?  Yeah, you don’t want to know.  Neither do I.

Booting would limit all motion of the ankle and the tarsal tunnel.  Unfortunately, it would also limit movement of all muscles.  Which mean I would lose all strength down there.  Seeing as how physical therapy has been focusing on strengthening the ankle and calf muscles around the ankle in order to support the arch better, it seems counterproductive to me. My physical therapist wasn’t happy about this, and I’m having trouble with it as well.

I’m going to see how my ankle/heel feels this weekend/week and then decide.  I’ve just been dealing with this thing for almost 6 months now, and I feel like no matter what improvement I get, it comes flaring back again with activity.  (Keep in mind even swimming and the stationary bike hurt and bother it).

I’m just sick of injuries!!

  • Plantar fasciitis in 2006 (back when I just ran on the treadmill)
  • Year-long calf pain following my marathon in 2007
  • Knee pain from 2008-current (it got 90% better in 2009 but occasionally still bothers me)
  • Oblique/side pain in August 2010 that lasted 3 weeks
  • The heel pain in October 2010
  • Oblique/side pain in November 2010-end of December (this one was much worse than the first – both sides and even into my back)

My body obviously is not meant for running.  Actually, I’m sure it all stems from my feet (which the physical therapist couldn’t get over how much my arches collapse and ankles roll inward).

Fun/Weird fact: I actually have very high arches.  My arches just collapse because my feet are so long (size 11), and there’s no support in the middle.  Kind of like how a bridge would collapse if there wasn’t a support pole in the center to help keep it up.

Okay, enough injury talk.  My sister’s coming into town to visit today and I have to figure out what to do with her!!

Have you ever dealt with an injury (or injuries)?  What type?

I couldn’t decide on a title today.  Some of my options were:

  • Sweet Crepe!
  • Champagne in the Mornin’
  • Panera take 3

You see, I opened this jar of jam the other night and at first thought something was wrong.  It was so….chunky!!  And then at first taste, I tasted vague hint of alcohol.  Bummer Sad smile The jam must be bad.

I took another bite.  Yes.  Definitely some alcohol.  Then I noticed the name.

IMG_0313

Awww champagne.  Yes, now that makes sense.  And the chunks?  My friends, that was just the overload of blueberries.  So amazed.  And So delicious.  I am obsessed.

I mixed it with some cream cheese to top my protein pancakes with.

IMG_0314

Pancakes made with:

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup wheat bran
  • 2 Tbsp whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 packet stevia
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • Almond milk
  • ~1/4 cup pumpkin

IMG_0315

Delicious, but these pancakes were so moist, they took FOR-EV-ER (Sandlot anyone??) to cook.

And the next morning I decided to make a sweet crepe.  Egg white omelet filled with the blueberry jam + cream cheese mixture.  With 2 1 1/2 Morningstar sausage patties on the side.  I might’ve been feeling nibbly.

IMG_0316-1

It’s been rainy here.  Very. Very. Rainy.

IMG_0317

And now I’m at Panera blogging away.  I got off work early, and felt the need to come somewhere productive to blog.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t turn down the “.99 cent pastry with any meal + drink purchase.”  Darn.

IMG_0318

I longingly eye this Cobblestone pasty roll thing every time I’ve been to Panera.

IMG_0319-1

Honestly?  It looks good.  But isn’t great.  It basically tastes like cinnamon raisin bread with a tiny bit of frosting drizzle.  I was expecting more of a cinnamon roll type of flavor.  I nibbled on half before my meal came.

Chicken Fuji Apple salad + black bean soup + whole grain baguette.

IMG_0320-1

Considering the fact that I snacked a lot at work this morning, I am now stuffed.  Drinking carbonated soda doesn’t help either Winking smile

Panera take three was a bit more of a success than my past visits.  Although my baguette was a bit on the burnt side.  Here’s my ranking so far (based on what I’ve gotten here within the 3 visits since it opened):

1. Fuji apple salad
2. BBQ chopped salad
3. Thai chicken salad

1. Chicken noodle soup
2. Black bean soup
3. Vegetable pesto soup

There salads are just so…..skimpy!!  Definitely needs more to it.  But the baguette still ranks #1 in my heart.  I love it.

I have to say once on vacation I got a turkey sandwich on their cinnamon raisin bread.  Sounds odd.  But it was amaze.  Sweet + savory peeps.  Do it.

What’s your favorite pastry?

I’m not a big pastry person.  Okay, that’s kind of lying.  They taste delicious.  But I can easily turn them down.  I definitely like sweet, doughy, frosting covered things.  Or an ooey gooey caramely baked good.  I’m not a fan of flaky things (think croissants or scones).

Unforunately, I have yet to get the gingerbread house pictures from the other night, so you’ll have to wait and see the final product. Let’s just say, it ended up a bit of a disaster 😉

I’ve been living on a sugar high these past few days. In addition to this candy filled night, I’ve also been picking at pieces of our house throughout the weekend (aka lots of candy & frosting), and enjoyed this breakfast Saturday morning.

Vans whole wheat waffles topped with sunbutter, cream cheese, syrup & granola (love crunch on my waffles). Scrambled egg whites + 1 egg & ketchup (necessity).

IMG 0469

But wait – my roommate & her boyfriend came home with donuts to share! I never have donuts (just don’t ever get the opportunity!), so I cut a few small bites of the cinnamon roll, glazed one, and bear claw – but honestly they were extremely dry and blah.

IMG 0470-1

But this cinnamon roll they made was quite the opposite! Helped myself to half of one 🙂

IMG 0472-1

Fueld my gym trip quite nicely where I completed

  • 4 mile dreadmill run ranging from 6 – 7.5 mph. Not so much intervals, just decided to take it realitvely easy and watch Fool’s Gold on TV
  • 25 minutes upper body weights

After this, I felt a bit too lazy for whittling my middle. Whoops!

Unpictured eats throughout the day, then chowed down my salad for dinner in 5 minutes pre-work.

Rando mix of:

  • Scrambled eggs
  • 2 buffalo chicken meatballs
  • Zucchini
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Spinach hommus
  • Salsa
  • Annie’s raspberry dressing
  • Spinach

IMG 0473-1

But it worked!

Work included trail mix (with M&M’s of course).

Today I knew I needed to finally get down to some studying.

First up – breakkie.

  • A bit of Voskos plain yogurt (review coming soon)
  • Blueberry Oikos (almost a full container)
  • Kashi Heart to Heart
  • Nature’s Path mesa sunrise
  • TJ’s pumpkin granola
  • Banana slices
  • Sunbutter & pumpkin butter

IMG 0474

Yumma! That TJ’s pumpkin granola is sooooo good guys. I’m picky with my granolas, but this stuff is the perfect granola taste to me 🙂 Just have to take it easy, since it’s pretty sweet and I know granola’s pretty high in sugar!

Next up – gym. Yeah, so the gym didn’t happen. As I tweeted about, there was no motivation whatsoever. Even though I should take advantage of free parking on campus (weekend!) and maybe take a weekday off of the gym. Didn’t happen.

I’m pretty sure my butt is imprinted into this couch permanently. I tried to study, I really did! But this take home final is going to take me 4x as long as a normal final…and I just gave up! Resorted to watching Falalala Lifetime instead 😉

Mid-afternoon, I did get a bit cold hungry and decided on hot butternut squash oatmeal.

Topped with:

  • A different mix of cereals
  • Frosting covered graham crackers (from our house!)
  • Pumpkin cream cheese
  • Sunbutter

IMG 0476-1

Warmed me right up!

I eventually gave up with my take home final, and turned to ice cream. Which kind of defeats the purpose of hot oats. But it’s great distraction, let me tell you.

I’ll admit it – I went ice cream crazy. Ice cream is my biggest weakness. Some people have no control over certain foods, and for me it’s ice cream. So times this bowl by 2 4. In all fairness, it’s a baby bowl. And it ended up being part of my dinner.

IMG 0478-1

Due to late oats, and the ice cream extravaganza, I never really got hungry, but I knew I needed something more satisfying around 8:30. A light egg & veggie scramble dinner did the trick.

  • Zucchini
  • Onion
  • Mushroom
  • Spinach
  • 1 egg + 3 egg whites
  • Nutritional yeast

IMG 0480

Wait…

IMG 0481

Oh, better 🙂

An unpictured cookie sneaked in there tonight as well. Picture/review tomorrow.

Until tomorrow friends.

Sugar coma….zzzzzz….

What’s up doc?

First off, I want to say Happy Birthday to my wonderful Daddy!! 😀 I’ve done a previous dedication post on Father’s Day, but I want to say I love you and thank you for all you’ve done for us 🙂

One of my favorite things every is the “kissy face” my dad does in pictures. Trying to be a 13-year old girl at heart, Dad? 😉

DSC 0038

CIMG3530

n6411653 36846818 5363

Love you mucho.

Eats have been typically unexciting, especially since I have no cam cam. 😦 But yesterday morning, I did enjoy a delicious spelt maple pecan scone. Wow.

IMG 0403-1

I ate half of it (aka the frosted top portion 😉 ) before completing some strength training and heading to a sports medicine doc appointment for my knee (I’ve lost count as to what number appointment this was).

I really liked this doctor. Right away she watched the way I stood and inspected my orthotics and shoes. She seemed much more concerned and knowledgeable about my problem, and seems very determined to help me get to the bottom of the pain. I had another x-ray done, and am scheduled to get a second, more powerful MRI done halfway down my tibia bone. I guess last MRI was only taken of the actual knee, and she’s curious about the pain at the top of my tibia. I’ll keep you all posted.

It’s extremely hard to find motivation to head to the gym at home since our gym is a good 15 minute drive away. So today, I ran/walked .8 miles with my mom to the track at the nearby middle school where I did 2.5 miles track running. Then walked .8 miles back home. It felt good!!

Pre-run was 1/2 of my mom’s toast with PB:

IMG 0407

Post-run was a giant fuji apple and one of my new cereals!

IMG 0404-1

A few weeks ago, I won 2 Nature’s Path giveaway, so I had one box mailed home so I would have cereals when I came home, and to share with my family. I was excited to try out this new Vanilla Sunrise flavor!

With yogurt and a banana.

IMG 0406-1

Unfortunately, I was disappointed. It wasn’t bad, just slightly bland and had a weird overall taste in my opinion. Definitely not one of their best flavors.

In other news –

In my weekly quotes email last week, there was a quote from someone with a letter to themselves:

I promise you that I will help you whenever you are troubled.
I will do everything in my power to make things better for you.
I promise you that I will be there for you whenever you need me.
I will help care for you and keep you healthy.
I promise you that I will get up everyday with a positive outlook, with my chin up and I’ll never deprive you of hope.
I promise that I will love and respect you and never take you for granted.
I will remind you each day that you are a child of God, that there is a purpose for your life and will spend my life helping you discover that purpose.
I promise that I will listen to you when you need someone to talk to, I will not pass judgement or condemn you for mistakes you make.
I promise that I will always forgive you and I! will not let past problems overshadow our relationship.
I promise that I will be a true friend to you and love you always, no matter what.
Love,
Yourself

In a similar note, make sure to check out my guest post on over on Danica’s blog today! It highly relates to the above letter 🙂

All right, I’m off to whittle my middle, then head to pick up my dad a birthday burrito lunch. Hopefully he hasn’t eaten yet!

Hopefully you’re not sick of pancakes. Because if you are, you’re out of luck.

IMG 5954

But you shouldn’t be sick of them because pumpkin pancakes are fab guys. Quite fab.

IMG 5955

IMG 5956

But if you are sick of them, then here’s yesterday’s breakfast.

IMG 5945

Mmmm pomegranate seeds. Psss $1 each at Vons this week.

IMG 5946

Hopefully you’re not sick of seeing salads the size of Texas mixing bowls.

IMG 5940

IMG 5942

Because I’m sure I’ll have another one next week.

IMG 5939

Hopefully you’re not sick of treadmill interval workouts because I did a new one on Thursday.

  • 1/4 mile warm-up
  • 1/2 mile @ 6.0 mph
  • 1/4 mile @ 6.5 mph
  • 1/4 mile @ 7 mph
  • 1/4 mile @ 6.0 mph
  • 1/4 mile @ 8.0 mph
  • 1/4 mile @ 6.0 mph
  • .1 mile @ 6.5, .1 mile @ 7.0, .1 @ 7.5, .1 @ 8.0 (ascending)
  • .1 @ 7.5, .1 @ 7.0, .1 @ 6.5, .1 @ 6.0 (descending)
  • 1/4 mile walk
  • 1/4 mile @ 6.0 mph
  • 1/4 mile @ 7.5 mph
  • Repeat ascending/descending intervals

Total: ~ 4 miles

I was getting bored of 1/4 mile intervals, so figured I would work with .1 mile intervals instead.

Hopefully you’re not sick of self portraits, which you shouldn’t be, since I don’t post many on the blog.

Wearing my “new” dress I asked you guys your opinions on.

IMG 5959-1

Ew I need to clean my mirror.

I definitely am not sick of these yet – the most addicting things ever.

IMG 5887

Dang puppy chow. I have a handful every time I go into the kitchen (obviously been unpictured on the blog – I have random handfuls, so they always slip my mind…but definitely do add up). Especially since I’ve eaten half the bag. Thank you Dang you to our friend who made it for us last weekend.

As I ran out of my beloved Einstein’s pumpkin cream cheese last week, I tried to re-create it myself my mixing:

  • Trader Joe’s reduced fat cream cheese
  • ~1/2 cup pumpkin
  • Pumpkin pie spice
  • Agave

IMG 5904-1

Unfortunately, this cream cheese has that fake “non-fat” cream cheese taste to it, even though it’s only reduced fat. I should have stuck with Philedalphia brand. But it tastes decent enough! I’m tempted to remake it with a better brand of cream cheese.

Smeared a little of that onto my pumpkin pancakes this morning.

IMG 5909-1

Also topped with some

  • Strained yogurt
  • Nature’s Path PB granola
  • Sunbutter (on 2 on the pancakes)
  • Syrup

IMG 5908-1

Overboard on toppings? Who me?

IMG 5910

Gym was awesome. I felt great on my run – much better than Sunday & Monday’s workout. I think I’m finally recovered from the weekend, hah. Or not so funny…

Total: 4 miles of 1/4 mile intervals (ranging from 6.0 – 8.0 mph) + 15 minutes ab work

I was a sweaty beast afterwards 😀

On the drive to work, I dug into part of my packed lunch, since I didn’t have a post-gym snack.  I was hangry and knew I wouldn’t have a chance to eat for another 1 1/2 hours.

IMG 5911

And then once at work and after the kiddies were down for their nap, I put together the rest of my mid-day meal.

IMG 5912-1

Blueberry Oikos with Kashi Honey Sunshine.

IMG 5913-1

I actually like Chobani’s blueberry better. It’s been about a month since I’ve had one, but I remember it being more creamy.

And a WW english muffin with pepperjack cheese.

IMG 5914-1

Afternoon snackages.

IMG 5915-1

And then dinner which I slowly and thoroughly enjoyed scarfed down in probably 3 minutes flat while the baby was close to screaming and the 2-year old was finishing her dinner. Sorry kids.  Miss. Taylor was starving and needed to eat.

Kashi southwest chicken & black bean meal. Topped with some cheddar cheee (post-picture).  And a couple of tortilla chips for dipping.

IMG 5918-1

Mehh, not my fave. But I had it in the freezer to use up. So use it up I did.

How did this sneak into my backpack?

IMG 5919-1

Mmm what a grand time.

Can I just say that 100 Grands, Take 5, and Twix’s are seriously some of the best gifts ever granted to this planet? Thank you.

I’m glad this “dinner” held me over for the rest of the night a whole 1 hour. Wooohoo!!!

So I stopped for a froyo on the drive home. Chocolate & vanilla swirl + pumpkin.

IMG 5923-1

And then was of course still hungry later that night. I spotted this on Whit’s blog a bit ago, and decided to try a micro’d pumpkin pie out for myself.

  • ~1/2 c. pumpkin
  • 1 egg white
  • Spices
  • Maple syrup

Microwaved for 2 minutes, topped with some greek yogurt & sunbutter…

IMG 5930-1

It was more a bowl of pumpkin mush….but still delicious pumpkin mush 😉 As I go back and read the actual directions now, I realize it probalby should have been on a plate and micro’d for 3 minutes. This, my friends, shall be re-done in the future. Oh yes it shall.

And what night doesn’t end with hot chocolate, of course? Do I even need to tell you that? Just assume every night ends with hot chocolate. Ya’ dig?

And now it’s 11:08 and exactly 1 hour past when I planned to go to bed. I’m so glad I always stick to my “bed-time”. Sweet dreams all.

I have been such a bad blogger, I’m sorry. This past week was beyond busy, and then Friday I was running all around with class, study sessions, and getting ready for our party!! Then Saturday was spent cleaning, sleeping, and recoupering for that night. And now here we are on Sunday! Okay, so to recap, the past few days – I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since Wednesday?! Oh dear me.

A few of Thursday’s eats included

Pumpkin oats (to celebrate National oatmeal day, of course)

IMG 5862

Topped with the usual, plus a sliver of a Pecan Berry Bran muffin I picked up last week and froze.

IMG 5860

Delicious.

That massive bowl held me over for hours! I’m usually hungry for a snack in my lab, about 2-2 1/2 hours post breakfast, but I didn’t need to eat until I got home after class.

Toasted sandwich thin and scrambled egg whites + 1 egg and cheese.

IMG 5864

I topped with sandwich thing with a smear of yogurt butter + this garlic cheese seasoning I have. And a slice of pepperjack cheese. Tasted just like garlic bread – delish!

IMG 5866

Mmmm ketchup 🙂

IMG 5865

I cheated…on pumpkin. I got a 1 pump peppermint Americano – one of my very favorite drinks I like to save for the holiday season.

IMG 5868

While cramming for my Friday midterm.

Cottage cheese + cereal + almond/pine nut/pumpkin seed nut mix.

IMG 5869

Dinner at work – Kashi curry rice pilaf with chicken, salsa, & cheddar cheese.

IMG 5871

And a banana whip dessert 🙂

IMG 5854

Friday’s breakkie.

IMG 5875

2 vans multigrain waffles topped with cream cheese, banana slices, and pumpkin “frosting”.

IMG 5873

For the frosting, I just mixed some pumpkin, greek yogurt, cinnamon, and maple syrup.

IMG 5874

And then I hit the gym for another interval treadmill workout. I won’t post it, but it was mostly alternating:

  • .25 miles @ 6.0 mph
  • .25 miles @ 8 or 8.5 mph

Of course there were other speeds, warm up, cool down, and .25 mile of walking in there, but you get the drift. I ended up going 5 miles, which is close to my longest I’ve gone since my knee incident. It felt awesome, and intervals really help with making the miles pass faster on the TM (knock on wood).

Post workout snackie while last minute cramming for my midterm!

IMG 0369

(I lived off of coffee this past week).

Then I was so busy the rest of the day (study session, hair-cut, picking up last minute things for our party..), I completely forgot to take pictures of my lunch and snacks. And I had the best salad too! Whoops! I did remember to snap a quick one of dinner. Went with my roommates when they picked up Panda Express, and honestly could not turn down the delicious smell of Chinese food!

String bean chicken, Sweet & fiery chicken, veggies, and only a few bites of the fried rice. Plus a fortune cookie of course 🙂 My roommate said that you’re supposed to be able to say “in bed” after every fortune, and they all make sense, or are funny. Well mine read:

“You will soon achieve something you’ve always wanted”…in bed. LOL. We had a good laugh 😀

IMG 0370

Then it was party time!! But I’ll recap the Halloween portion of the weekend in my next post 😉

We shall just say that Saturday post-party wasn’t too hot. And I couldn’t stomach to eat anything all day until dinner. When I finally managed some yogurt + cereal. And some candy of course (all unpictured – I was way out of it yesterday).

Of course, this morning I woke up starving, after eating hardly anything yetserday. So oats it was. (This pic was one from Thursday – my camera unfortunately died last night 😦 Charging it now!)

IMG 5861

So sorry for the long delay in posting – since this one was so long (and since I don’t have the Halloween pictures yet), I’ll do a separate Festive post later on 🙂

How was everyone else’s weekend?? What did you all do/dress up as?

First, off I want to say a huge congrats to my little sister Brookie for getting 2nd place on vault at her gymnastics meet this weekend 🙂 9.45 – her best score yet! I’m so proud of her 😀

Second, I’m glad you all enjoyed the le tour de France my house. Or at least pretended to like it. I’m kind of on the Vlog bandwagon now…or at least trying to make up for my lack of pictures and phone photo shots.

Last night I got a bit hungry while in bed, but was too lazy to head downstairs. Then I remembered I had the sample pack that One Lucky Duck sent me sitting on my desk!

Hmm…I’ve obvoiusly been enjoying these snacks unpictured on the blog :-/

IMG 0317-1

I’ve tried the Gingerbread cookies, and they were amazing. I loved the distinct taste of cashew in them. The Cheese-y Crackers crackers were also pretty tasty, although they had a strange aftertaste. But I loved the sharp taste! Last night I tried the Chocolate chips cookies and blech, was not a fan at all! Something was off and I couldn’t even eat one!

IMG 0318-1

But the granola bar was quite tasty! I enjoyed the whole thing 🙂 I loved the sweet, sweet sticky texture from the honey. Yumm!

IMG 0337-1

This morning I woke up to prepare some pumpkin pancakes!

IMG 0338-1

Rather than using a recipe, I just used the boxed Quaker oatmeal pancake mix, and added pumpkin, cinnamon, & pumpkin pie spice. They were delicious, but not as good as my made from scratch WW oatmeal pancakes 😉

Topped with pumpkin cream cheese, sunbutter, & maple syrup.

IMG 0340-1

Fueld my gym sesh quite nicely 🙂

  • 2 mile run 6 mph
  • .25 mile walk
  • 1.5 mile run 6-8 mph intervals
  • 4 minute walk 10% incline

Total: 3.5 miles running, 4.5 miles total

I seriously hadn’t done intervals in years. When I was into running long distances, I would just run miles and miles at the same speed – no intervals involved. Back in the day (about 3 years ago) when I was just running on the treadmill for fitness, I ran intervals. And man did it feel good to go fast after going at a constant 6 mph TM pace these past few months!

Post-gym, I stopped by the froyo store to check if they had pumpkin flavor – and left a happy happy gal 😀

IMG 0349-1

~ 1 serving pumpkin + cake batter froyo with some chocolate syrup (I saved the rest of the froyo in the freezer for future consumption)

Sandwich thin with PB & J

IMG 0350-1

A delicious fuji.

IMG 5564

And a pumpkin smoothie “don’t jude me, okay?” smoothie.

IMG 5777-1

(recycled picture)

Boring afternoon of errands, studying, and party shopping procrastinating stuff.

And then dinner was thrown in the oven. Kashi black bean mexicali pizza topped with the last of my turkey pepps and some spinach.

IMG 0352-1

I only had 1/4 of this because I filled up on about 5 servings of broccoli. Oh well, more for later!

I did get hungry later on (obviously, after only 2 puny thin crust pizza slices) so helped myself to a treat I picked up earlier.

Pumpkin chocolate chip cookie!

IMG 0353-1

Warmed up in the microwave…..mmmmmm boy.

I also snagged this day old muffin (I think it was spelt bran pecan and berry?). Sorry the picture’s still in the wrapper – I don’t want to unwrap it until I actually plan to eat it.

IMG 0355-1

I may or may not have another Vlog surprise tomorrow to make up for my last day of non-real camera pics. Stay tuned!!

**Still phone pictures** 😦

My hunger never calmed down last night, and post popcorn included the infamous Banana Whip!!

IMG 0329-1

OMG amaaaaazing. Definitely something only a food processer can do. Although my little food processer is so teeny, that it starts to smoke and gets so hot that it actually heats up the banana whip when it goes too long. So I’m not sure mine’s as light and airy as it’s supposed to be.

IMG 0330-1

And I also got a Halloween package from my grandma Sissie!

IMG 0334

Obviously dug in a bit already 😉

IMG 0336-1

This morning was a re-make of something I haven’t had in a while. Waffle ‘Witch! (wow what a festive title, no?)

IMG 0331-1

Sandwiched between 2 Kashi honey oat waffles:

  • Scrambled eggs with some cheese
  • Garlic & herb cream cheese
  • Ketchup
  • Tomato

IMG 0333-1

To fully capture it in it’s glory, I’ll remind you of it when I had an actual photo from a real camera.

IMG 4823-1

IMG 4824-1

Except that one had guac in it, which mine did not 😦

I definitely got a lot accomplished today:

  • Costco

So to make up for my lack of pictures, I promised you something else exciting today, so here it is! My first Vlog!

I know a bunch of bloggers got on the house tour train a while ago, and I’ve been meaning to do it. Now that I don’t have my normal spectacular pictures to wow you all with, I thought it would be the perfect time.

(Please ignore the awkard ending. I didn’t know exactly how to say “bye”. And sorry my finger kept getting in the way of the lens. Also sorry if it’s grainy at parts due to lighting and makes you dizzy. I realized I moved the camera around a bit too much.  I also like how the beginning shot is of beer.  Nice 😉 )

Enjoy 🙂

Camera Vacation

I’m glad you all enjoyed the letter to my body 🙂 Honestly, it really helped. Yesterday when any type of negative thought entered my head I remembered what I wrote and I immediately revoked the thoughts. Try it!

I have sad news. I left my camera at work. And I’m not going back until next Tuesday. Waaaaah. 😦

I was going to post my yesterday’s eats since those pictures on are my camera. But it’s at work. 30 minutes away.

So it’ll be Iphone pictures for the next 4 days. Boo.

One thing I can say is that refined carboyhydrate pumpkin bagels do not a make a good lunch (as delicious as they are). Since I was starving again 2 hours later. And then again 2 hours after that. And then again soon after.

Breakfast this morning (bear with me here guys):

Pumpkin oats.

The usual oatmeal mix

  • 1/3 cup multigrain oats, 1/3 c soymilk, 1/3 c water
  • Pumpkin, cinnamon, pie spice
  • 2 egg whites
  • Earth balance PB

Topped with

  • Banana nut cheerios
  • Nature’s Path peanut butter granola
  • Sunbutter
  • Pumpkin cream cheese

First time trying the PB granola and it was okay. All right, it was good, but not my fave of their granolas. I actually couldn’t detect any PB flavor at all. Pumpkin flax and vanilla still win.

On today agenda:

  • Sleep in
  • Make Breakfast
  • Class
  • Gym
  • Halloween party shopping
  • Study/HW

Fun Friday, right?

Song of the moment (aka song stuck in my head): Luke Bryon’s “Do I”. For anyone who has seen the music video (yes I’m lame and watch country music videos – it’s really just my form of “radio” in the morning), my sister and I are super confused as to who’s the husband, who’s the cheater…what’s going on? Okay, I’m out.

Sorry such a poopy post, but I’m picture-less and gotta get to class!

Happy Friday!!
