**Note: this was written on Thursday night, but my internet was down (what’s new) so was posted on Friday**
Madelin was wonderfully kind enough to award me with the Beautiful Blogger award!
I recently shared the 7 random facts about myself on this post, so check it out if you interested! š
In other news, I’m sure much of you caught Michael Pollen and Alicia Silverstone on Oprah yesterday. I’ve yet to see Food Inc, but I found the intereview extremely interesting. I have their same viewpoints on eating processed and real foods, but I have to admit I’ve really never given a second thought to my poultry. I try to avoid “fake” and highly processed meats, but I really don’t pay attention to organic, grass-fed, etc. Maybe I should start?
I was, however, impressed by Chipotle! I had no idea they were that fresh and healthy! A Chipotle is finally coming here to my college town, and man, am I excited! š
Speaking of yesterday, did you know Wednesdays are $1 oatmeal day at Jamba Juice? When I heard that, I knew where I’d be stopping on my drive to work.
I had a really hard time deciding from all their options.
I finally decided on Banana. Steel cut oats cooked with soymilk, topped with banana slices and brown sugar crumble.
Oh, brown sugar crumble! Just like the crumbles on top of apple pie š
Unfortunately, it didn’t hold me over long at all, and I was starving two hours later. Made my mini-lunch earlier than planned.
2 slices WW bread topped with laughing cow cheese + pumpkin butter.
With leftover roasted broccoli.
And snuck a couple treats from my little girl’s “Yay, you went potty on the toilet” bag of candy.
Dinner was a broccoli, chicken and cheese mixture that was honestly waaayyy too rich for me.
And I couldn’t think of a better way to reward myself after such an exhausting and emotionally draining day (have you tried dealing with a 2 year old who hasn’t gone #2 in more than a week? Yeah, they’re a bit whiny) than with froyo on the way home from work.
This beast was huge!! That was a 16 oz container it was overflowing.
See you tomorrow for Flashback to Europe part 3 and Friday!!
I wish we had a jamba juice near hear! That sounds delicious
Haha the girl I babysat over the summer (also 2) had a yay you went to thr potty candy basket. Unfortunately it was smarties and other such candy I don’t really like. Or fortunately!
Mmm jamba juice oatmeal looks so yummy for one dollar!
Froyo looks delish as well!
There’s a Chipotle near my house and I’ve actually never been! Everyone raves about it though
I thought I was the only blogger who hadn’t seen Food Inc yet. Good to know š
what?! $1 oatmeal?! too bad the nearest jamba juice is far away š¦
So jealous of your Jamba!! Then again, I would probably be poor if we had a Jamba Juice near here..
I love Chipotle! And of course froyo!
Food Inc = amazing but VERY eye opening movie!
1 dolla for oatmeal?! sign me up! thats awesome! wish i had onea those around here!
Jamba oats always look/sound delish! I think I’d be starving within an hour… I need a good dose of protein to hold me for any length of time. But really…would NOT pass up $1 oatmeal š
Poor kid- am out of the loop with blogs, but is she seeing a doctor? 2 weeks sounds painfully long!
1 dollar oatmeal? I need to start frequenting Jamba Juice on Wednesdays! Obsessed with how good your roasted broccoli looks, by the way!
Chipotle is awesome š
I’m pretty sure we don’t have Jamba Juice where I live, but I love that 30 Rock mentioned it in a recent episode. š The birthday tribute to your mom was sweet — hope she had a great day!
Ah froyo defenitly soothes the soul!
hahah, we all should get candy when we go potty on the toilet…
wheres the chipotle going to be in slo?? i’m curious to know which end of town gets to be so lucky to be near one.
Broccoli, chicken and cheese, just about my fav foods ever.
I actually just saw Food Inc yesterday and wrote a post about it today. I plan on paying attention to grass fed and getting better chicken—Im also going to start incorporating a meatless monday to start cutting down on my meat consumption!
omg $1 oatmeal is such a bargain! I need to find me a jamba juice.. all they have in my town are planet smoothies =[
I believe I have a Jamba Juice in my area. I will have to check out Wednesday $1 Oatmeal.
[…] you participate in flashback friday? i know deb and holly and susan and taylor and jessie and lauren did! let me know if you did too and i will link back in my next […]
yummm that fro yo looks SO good! DId they talk about Chipotle on Oprah? I went for the first time last week and was pretty happy with my meal. Especially the 1 cup of Guac on top of my Burrito Bowl! š It was my perception that everything was fresh, but I’m just curious to what Oprah may have had to say?
[…] had high hopes for these Signature Cafe meals, but all three I tried were disappointing. The broccoli, chicken & cheese dish from last week was very rich. And the orange chicken I had this past weekend (unpictured […]
