Happy Friday!!
Breakfast this morning, I was craving something I haven’t had in a while – Oatmeal!
- Multigrain oats + Almond milk + 2 egg whites
- Pumpkin + Cinnamon + maple syrup
- Raw almond butter
- Pumpkin cream cheese
- Sprinkling of cereal & granola
Yummm. Totally hit the spot!
After class, I hit up the gym where I did an easy 2 mile walk on the treadmill. My knees have been killing me lately, and I know I have to suck it up and just not stress them out. Followed by ab & hip strength.
Post-gym I was starving! Hard to see, but it was sauteed zucchini, onions, and chicken meatballs. Toppped with pasta sauce and nutritional yeast.
Kind of light because I knew I’d be having dinner relatively soon. Baked sweet potato topped with Trader Joe’s baked beans and some laughing cow cheese! Delicious combo.
When trying to decide what to Flashback upon this Friday, I was inspired by Miss Flashback Queen herself to travel back to my trip to London in June 2007! Β (I’ll split this into 2 separate flashbacks – it was a long trip, and I have lots of pictures!).
My grandma always promised my sister that she would take her on a trip to London after she graduated high school. I tagged along to keep her company π
We bolted to the airport straight from her graduation!
So excited – my first trip to Europe, and really my first trip without “adults”!
Exhausted from our multiple flights!
The first day, we played “tourist” and rode the double decker tour bus!
Day 3, we traveled by boat to Greenwich.
The Prime Meridean! My sister and I are in different time zones!
How cute are my grandparents?
We had some fun in Harrods.
Of course we would find ourselves in the toy section π
You know I love my polar bears!
And came across our dream wedding dress.
On the 4th day, we ventured to visit Hamptom Court – the home of Henry VIII.
With King Henry himself!
We conquered the maze in his gardens!
And found the “golden goblet”. I got really excited π
Beautiful gardens π
Being a grandmother, Sissie (what we call her) made us take a picture with everything and everyone – including the tour guides. They all look stoked. π
They also made us take a picture at almost every meal we ate out at.
With the pretty carved flower at the Chinese restaurant.
Wednesday, my sister and I split off and visited the wax museum.
Oh hey Buffy.
Abe & I – we’re like *that*.
The rest of the week was filled with more famous landmarks.
Big Ben!
London Eye.
Shakespeare Globe.
London Bridge [is falling down].
St. Paul’s Cathedral. Hi Paige! π
We were extremely lucky to have traveled with my grandparents who paid for mostly everything – including the numerous plays we went to!
Phantom of the Opera.
Billy Elliot
Mary Poppins
Wicked!
Spamalot (HILARIOUS)
That concludes London trip week 1! I’ll continue with week 2 (including our short Pairs trip) next week π
Have you ever traveled to Europe? If so, which country did you travel to or what was your favorite? If not, where would you love to visit?
Mmm that baked sweet tater/cheese/beans combo looks amaaazing!
Love the flashback pics! You can tell you have SUCH a zest and passion for simply living life, Tay – I lurve it! Have a great weekend π

Such great memories!
wow that is one rockin’ trip!! i went to france senior year of high school as homestay so i got to see lots of touristy places and lots of local ones π
I’ve been to Europe, but only to Italy, except for a short layover in London. It was the best vacation I have been on!
Your London trip looks like it was so much fun! It’s my dream to go to a wax museum (strange ambitions, I know). I went to London when I was really little but I don’t remember anything except the food court at Harrod’s!
I’m so jealous of all your travels! I’ve only been to like 3 States tops! LOL
I’ve always wanted to go to England! Those pics definitely make me think I’m right in wanting that.
I love the sweet potato and bean combo
Between you and Janetha, I am missing London like crazy this afternoon π One of my favourite cities… I have travelled around Europe a bit- England, Scotland, France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. Germany was amazing- would go back in a heartbeat! Really want to go see Anne Frank’s house in Amsterdam, and tour Italy (Pompeii!)
Wow, what a great experience! Very cool. And also…what does nooch taste like? I’ve heard it’s cheesy. And texture wise?? Never tried it but am interested, cause I see people using it all the time.
You are so adorable!!! What an awesome time in abroad! Everything looks like so much fun, and consider me officially and eternally envious of your killer arms!!! π
So many good memories. We lived in England from 2005-2008. We loved it. Wicked is my all-time favorite musical. While we lived there we got to travel a lot – Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Italy. Probably more that I’m forgetting. I think we liked Croatia and Italy the most. While we were there we also got out of Europe and went to South Africa – best trip ever! Thanks for bringing back so many great memories. Amy
what a life you live! all I want to do is life is go to London and eat croissants and meet hot men with accents ;). Seriously though, so jealous! … certainly a trip to remember.
So jealous!!
