Happy Monday 😀 I really don’t dread Mondays since I don’t have a regular job and only work 3-6 today. It’s more Wednesdays I dread – my loonnnnngggg workday with the kids. So no Monday blues over here! 😉
Some rando eats throughout the weekend –
Yogurt messes for breakfast both days!
Strawberry Chobani one day, Peach the next.
With Kashi Good Friends cereal, Dark Chocolate Dreams PB, and Crofter’s jam.
Saturday we took advantage of the $4.20 special at High St. Deli (get it? ha. ha.).
Except mine was $5.20 since I added avocado, of course!
And Sunday’s lunch was a….flatout wrap??
With goodies inside!
Stir fry veggies in taco seasonings, black beans, FF sour cream, and some new dressing I picked up at ‘le Costco.’
I love how they say “HEALTHY” across the front. Just becaue it has some yogurt in it, doesn’t make it specifically “healthy”, people! But it’s not bad. And it sure is tasty!
And both dinners were literally DCD PB & jelly wraps eaten during my 15 minute break since I worked both nights at Old Navy. Did you hear about that “30% off everything” sale they had going on? Yeah – it was crazy and the store was a mess.
Due to all my recent DCD consumption, this morning I enjoyed the reward of eating all your nut butter.
- 1/3 cup oats + 1/4 cup wheat bran + 1 cup soymilk
- Cinnamon & maple syrup
- Spoonful of protein powder
- Nature’s Path pumpkin spice granola
- Whipped cream cheese
- A few more scoops of PB from another jar
Chocolate for breakfast?
Normally I’d be sad. But luckily I have a whole other jar waiting for me!
I probably should’ve saved this for future use. But it’s just. Too. Good.
Now I have something exciting to share!!
I didn’t realize until after the fact that I missed the registration to enter the drawing for the Nike Women’s Marathon in October. This race is extremely special to me as it was my first and only marathon.
I’ve also done the half twice.
Obviously, I didn’t do it last year, and I honestly never would have thought of registering for it this year. But now that my knee is feeling better…..But then I missed the sign-ups.
This weekend, I saw that my friend signed up through a special “college registration,” and I checked it out. Turns out, they put aside tickets specifically for students at a discounted rate! Similar to how they put aside tickets for other organizations (such as Team in Training). It was $50 (compared to the $115 of the normal cost) if you registered before May 1st. I literally saw my friend’s link, and clicked to start registering at 11:58 pm on April 30th. If that’s a not a sign, I don’t know what is. Not knowing what to expect, I continued through registration, and ended up being able to register! I was beyond ecstatic because
1. I got in automatically – I didn’t even have to enter the drawing
2. I got such a great deal!!
I know I’m really counting my chickens before the hatch, and expecting way too much of my knee, especially since I just started back into running, and the highest I’ve gone is 4.5 miles. Who knows how my knee can handle farther distances and more mileage. But I know I’d be disappointed if October comes, and I would be physically capable, but without a ticket. So I sprung for it 😉
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share this or not on the blog, until I was more sure if my knee would be able to handle it. But obviously decided to share 🙂
C’mon knee – you can do this for me 🙂
If you’ve done races in the past, is there a specific one that just holds a special place in your heart? Whenever you think about it or run it again, you just get “that feeling?” Or if you’ve never done a race, is there a specific one you want to do?
I’ve always wanted to do the San Diego Rock & Roll and Disneyworld Marathon. Always.
